Would You Pay $350 for a Meatloaf & Macaroni Dinner Date at Bloomindales?

Living Social is selling what could be the WORST DEAL we’ve seen in a long time. The Washington, DC-based daily deal company is hawking a $175 admission ticket to a meal by Top Chef Carla Hall at Burke in The Box, a mediocre restaurant inside Bloomingdales.

So for $350, you and your date get a four-course meal that includes: Mac & Cheese, a chicken bite (singular), meatloaf, banana pudding and wine pairings. Gratuity may or may not be included, see the highlighted menu above and you’ll see what we mean. The deal also includes a bag of Carla’s cookies, a gift certificate for a bottle of wine, and shiver me timbers, an opportunity for a photo opp with Carla.

This offer is a discount from the original price of $399 per person, according to Living Social. Yeah.

So just so we have this straight (and we apologize if we don’t) this is a four-course meal of comfort food at $350 for two, which would have originally cost $798, all prepared by a chef who doesn’t, to the best of our research, currently work in an actual restaurant. Yep, it’s a BAD DEAL.

If you wanna drop that kind of cash on dinner, we say do the short tasting menu at Torrisi, with all the supplements, and you’ll spend $248 after tax and tip (but before wine, which won’t cost you much more).
